Irene Meniconi was born in Florence in 1986, and then moved, still very young, to Chianti, a place surrounded by nature that will become the main element of inspiration for her future artistic production.
After graduating from the Leon Battista Alberti Art School and graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Irene has been living and working in Florence for several years, pursuing her personal artistic research, the result of both a technical and psychological path, creating works with mixed media all united by an accurate and characteristic pen drawing.
At the same time she collaborates with private clients and Italian and international companies.
"I was constantly searching for something mysterious, immersing myself in nature, almost blending into its very essence, out of the world of men."
Since childhood, Irene has lived in close contact with nature, immersing herself in it, experiencing and shaping through her psyche everything that has to do with the Earth, with matter, with mystery, fantasy and creativity.
But in 2002, her innocent, happy and magical world crumbled when she began to be sexually abused by a trusted person her father's age.
Irene, then 15 years old, will be sexually and psychologically abused by this person for 5 years, thus severely compromising her life.
Irene Meniconi's works are the story of a deep inner journey, the narrative of a battle for her own rebirth.
